I work from home, and so do most of my co-workers. We communicate mostly by email, instant messaging, or one-on-one phone calls. But occasionally we need to meet as a group, either in person or via a conference call. When that happens, the meeting initiator sends an email to the group asking everyone about their availability. This sets off a flurry of replies regarding dates and times. It can take days and dozens of back-and-forth emails for everyone to settle on a time for a simple one-hour conference call. It's ridiculous.
Fortunately, there's a better way, and it's called Doodle. This Website lets you schedule a meeting by emailing a grid of times and dates to everyone. The recipients can "vote" on the times that work for them. Once everyone casts their votes, Doodle determines the most popular vote and lets everyone know.
Since my co-workers and I started using Doodle, our meeting scheduling process has become much simpler.
Doodle is also good for making group decisions, such as choosing a restaurant or movie when going out for the evening with friends.
