I keep my to-do list on my computer. I don't take my computer with me everywhere, but I always have my phone with me. So when I suddenly remember that I need to transfer money from my savings account to my checking account to cover that big check I just wrote to Uncle Sam for my income tax payment, I pull out my phone and call Jott*. This toll- free service transcribes whatever I say and sends me an e-mail with the text in it.
You can sign up for Jott at jott.com (it's free). They give you a personal telephone number that you can enter into your cell phone's contact list.
Jott has many powerful features, such as the ability to send e-mail to your friends and colleagues just by dictating a message into your phone.
You can also specify different categories of to-do list to send your Jott voicemails to, such as "Work" or "Personal."
If you tell Jott you want a "Reminder.," it'll prompt you for the time and date and the subject of your reminder. Jott will send you a reminder email (or text message) 15 minutes before the event.
Jott's Web site keeps a record of all your messages and lists, making it easy to refer to and edit your reminders.
